It's my clear understanding that preliminary discussions with Markings Technical Committee have made it clear that blue is already a reserved color, and cannot be used for experimental colored bike lanes.

Other initial discussions with Markings have indicated that green may be an acceptable color for experimentation. However, it's also my understanding that Markings has not yet formally considered this issue as a full committee - which it seems should be done prior to discussion by BTC.

I'm not going to impose on Gene's committee on short notice for a June agenda slot. So, if MTC can look at this possibly
in January, then BTC can look at this in June 04 (if we choose to do so!) with much better guidance on color.
